My husband & I stayed here for our very first trip to New Orleans together last week & we loved everything about it! The decor, the staff, the location, the privacy, & the outdoor seating area in the back. Every morning we woke to the delicious smell of breakfast cooking, and our front balcony room was perfect. We will definitely be back.

It was a wonderful experience. The bed was amazing, the interior was charming, and the breakfast was delicious. John's so nice and super helpful especially via email. He answered all of my questions. And the location is perfect, too. It's walking distance from all the chaos on Bourbon Street and close to the local scene on Frenchmen Street. Great, great location. Way better than staying at a hotel. Plus, he told us so many stories and insights about New Orleans. It's something you can only get from a local like John, and not from some concierge in a lobby.

Thanks John for making my first trip to New Orleans such a enjoyable time. The house was very nice and comfortable. John upgraded us to the first floor room since my wife and I were the only persons there . John was really nice to talk to in the morning and his breakfast was outstanding! Could not ask for better. I would stay here again without question. And for any coffee before you talk to me in morning people John has the coffee set up just need to flip the on switch. Thank you for making my first vacation in 9+years so enjoyable

Our home in NOLA. John is a wonderful host. The house is beautifully decorated. Rooms are comfortable. Relaxing seating area in the yard and rocking chairs on the front porch.

My husband and I feel very fortunate to have found this gem of a B&B at the intersection of the French Quarter and La Maison Marigny. The B&B was as beautiful inside as out, tastefully furnished with beautiful rich linens, luxurious richly hewed bedspreads and drapes lending the interior a very comfortable yet distinctly New Orleans elegant feel. John was a wonderful host, very knowledgeable of the area's history, dining scene and pretty much anything you wanted to know about NOLA and its surrounding area. We also loved how close the B&B was to Frenchman's Street which is a nearby jewel of an area--somewhat of a microcosm of the best the more touristy French Quarter has to offer but with a more low key down to earth vibe. John provided a map and list of his favorite NOLA restaurants which was very helpful since they're so many great restaurants to choose from. Would definitely come back here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights during a recent trip to NOLA, and we could not have been happier with our stay! I had made the reservation months in advance, but the B&B was going through some technical problems with their system, so the booking process was slightly confusing. John, the owner, e-mailed me to clear things up and put us on a list for a free room upgrade. Fast -forward to our arrival. I really wasn't expecting the upgrade, but we got it! This meant that we stayed in the suite on the first floor--a beautiful bedroom and living room separated by pocket doors. It was basically like staying in our own apartment, especially since our room was right next to the kitchen. (One caveat: If you like to sleep late, this might not be the room for you since you can hear the kitchen noise in the morning starting around 8 or so. It didn't bother us since we were generally up by then anyway.) John is an amazing host and cook. We're talking real breakfasts here; not just a quick continental thing. My boyfriend and I had a great time chatting with him in the mornings. As for the location, it's right on the edge of the French Quarter, so it's within easy walking distance of a lot of points of interest but is far enough from the crazy that you don't have to worry about drunk people screaming and puking outside your window. Parking can be tricky (street parking), so you're probably better off without a car. After our experience here, I would never stay anywhere else in NOLA!

John is a wonderful host. Spent 5 days for Jazz Fest. Beds are comfy, location is wonderful (5min walk to Cafe Du Monde- closer than the Sheraton on Canal) and in the heart of Frenchman area. Couldn't ask for a better spot!

Stayed here 4 days.. SUPER location, everything is close by. John is a great host and does his best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Awesome breakfast every morning prepared by John with great info, advice and insights regarding the local scene. Very enjoyable stay here.

Recently stayed here on a recommendation from a friend, and really glad we did. Loved the house - very cozy and nicely decorated - there is even a nice little patio area in the back. John is an extremely nice guy and we had a great time talking to him about the goings-on in his city. The B&B is in a great location - a short walk from the middle of the Quarter and the music clubs on Frenchmen St., but far enough away from the action that you can get a good night's sleep when you are done for the night! Speaking of sleep, the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. I highly recommend checking out this B&B next time you travel to NOLA - I don't think I'll be staying elsewhere.

We had a great time staying here on our first trip to New Orleans. You are only about a 5-10 minute walk to most anywhere in the French Quarter. The breakfast was great and John was very helpful and interesting to talk to. This is one of the side benefits of staying a bed and breakfast vs a hotel in a city you have never visited.

At the quiet end of Bourbon is ideal, as it gives the option of peace and sleep as well as being close to the wild party end of Bourbon and the less will option of Frenchman. Breakfasts are great and were different for all seven days and John is indeed a very friendly and helpful man. My wife and I stayed for a week in June and have no complaints about our stay. Thanks!

This place is fantastic. John did everything possible to make sure our stay was enjoyable. He also gave up plenty of his time to answer our questions about the city's history and attractions. 5 stars.

Loved it. Just got back from New Orleans, stayed here 4 nights in the balcony room. Great prices right now. Rooms are lovely and clean, the house is cozy, breakfasts are great, and snacks are available at all times. John is a wealth of information about good local restaurants vs tourist traps. Walking distance to all the French Quarter stuff is great, but the BEST part is you're just around the corner from Frenchman Street, where there are more cool bars with outstanding live music than you can count.

I went to NOLA for a conference at the convention center in April 2011. Though it is a 1.5 mile hike to the center, the experience at la maison Marigny was great. The host is very helpful and accomodating. The house is beautiful, and the location on a quiet part of Bourbon street is prime. It is close to Frenchman street as well. The price is very reasonable. I would go back there anytime.

I will definitely stay at La Maison Marigny anytime I visit New Orleans. The location is great and John the owner/host is so accommodating. The b&b is on Bourbon St but it's all the way at the end so you don't get any of the noise from the bars, music venues, and restaurants. We sometimes heard the clip-clopping horse carriages going by, but that was a nice noise. You can easily walk to Frenchman St, the French Market, the Old Mint, the flea market, and even all the way down to Canal Street if you like hoofing it. We stayed in the Owner's Suite, which is on the first floor of the house and has two rooms. One room has a queen bed and the other room has a couch that turns into a daybed. The rooms can be separated at night by closing the pocket doors. There was plenty of room for me and my mom and I think it would probably be a comfortable room for a couple traveling with a child too. If you plan on staying out really late and don't want to wake up before 10am, you might consider an upstairs room instead since the Owner's Suite is right down the hall from the dining room/kitchen where breakfast is served 8:30 to 10:00. Speaking of breakfast, each morning John offered breakfast which included coffee, juice, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereal, muffins, and scones. I tend to like a light breakfast so the selection was perfect for me. There's a patio in the back of the house and a porch with rocking chairs in the front. There is also a computer in the sun room and lots of dvd's to borrow in case you want a quiet night inside. John is a wealth of information and gives great suggestions on places to eat and attractions to visit so make sure you ask for his advice if you need it. Definitely consider La Maison Marigny for your next trip to New Orleans.

We just got back from a New Orleans-style Christmas and we love love loved the Maison Marigny. Being a proud Tulanian, I was happy to discover that this cozy b&b near the Frenchman area is owned by a fellow Tulane alum. We stayed on the second floor in the Balcony room which overlooks a calm, quiet section of Bourbon...the balcony was a great space, especially since it was accessible only from our room. We appreciated the Neutrogena shampoo and bath gel and the shower was great...amazing water pressure and amount of hot water for New Orleans. Lots of great little touches...Abita in the fridge in our room, Louisiana magazines everywhere, snacks downstairs, and an up-to-date dvd collection for rainy days. I enjoyed a great lemon poppyseed muffin in the cute green courtyard, while using the complimentary wi-fi, even! The pound cake/strawberry/Nutella breakfast panini was amazing--and the delicious pumpkin bread got us through the late night munchies. We highly recommend this b&b and hope to stay here again...
